Community – Local

Organizations in the greater Franklin NY area.

Lynne Kemen brings five decades of professional public service to her work as a board director.

Lynne was instrumental in growing the Department of Psychology at Hunter College in New York City from 1800 majors to more than 3000, and before that, a private non-surgical orthopedic practice from 10 employees to 50. After retiring as Assistant Professor of Psychology in 2016, she moved upstate with her husband where she now serves as a board director for Franklin Free Library, Franklin Local, Bright Hill Literary Center of the Catskills, and Franklin Community Education Foundation.

Her mission is to strengthen the quality of life and economy of Delaware County by developing partnerships among businesses, and nonprofit organizations. She is passionate about education, arts and culture, and literacy.

“In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it.
